Thirty thousand feet was a strange place to find myself into the biggest trouble of my life, but somehow I managed it.
Airplane etiquette dictates you should just lean your seat back, put your tray table to the down position, eat your snack, take the Coke or whatever it is they offer, then maybe go to sleep for a little while. Basically, hang out until you arrive at your destination. Right?
Well, not if you’re me. My name’s Jamal Coleman. I’m a hacker, and I was on this flight for a really good reason. I was following a guy named Caden Sims, and from what I knew … Caden Sims was some kind of trouble.
Let me start back at the beginning. I’ve been around for awhile, working in the background. Maybe Sienna told you a thing or two about me. I hope it was good. It could go either way, really. I’ve done some bad things.
Some … really bad things.
But following Caden Sims onto that plane? This time, I was really, really trying to do some good.
Normally, when I have to follow a guy, all I do is pull up his image on a surveillance camera and watch him from across the country. Because I can and because that’s the safe, sensible way to do it. Not to book yourself on a flight, follow him through airport security, get on the same plane, and then sit there almost across the aisle from him, hoping he doesn’t realize that you are actually following him in this confined space where neither one of you could escape.
