\u201chard-science\u201d story for a new generation of readers, producing work on<\/i> the Cutting Edge of science which bristles with weird new ideas and<\/i> often takes place against vistas of almost outrageously cosmic scope. <\/i><\/p>\n

Baxter made his first sale to <\/i> Interzone in 1987, and since then has<\/i> become one of that magazine\u2019s most frequent contributors, as well as<\/i> mak-ing sales to <\/i> Asimov\u2019s Science Fiction, Science Fiction Age, Zenith, New Worlds, and elsewhere. He\u2019s one of the most prolific of the new<\/i> writers of the past decade, and is also rapidly becoming one of the most<\/i> popular and acclaimed of them. Baxter\u2019s first novel, <\/i> Raft, was released in<\/i> 1991 to wide and enthusiastic response, and was rapidly followed by<\/i> other well-received novels such as <\/i> Timelike Infinity, Anti-Ice, Flux, and the<\/i> H. G. Wells pas-tiche <\/i> The Time Ships (a sequel to <\/i> The Time Machine), which won both the John W. Campbell Memorial Award and the Philip K. <\/i><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
