Cassandra
\npulled down at the bottom edges of her jumper, and looked at
\nherself in the tall mirror in front of her. She wasn\u2019t long out of
\nthe shower, and her damp hair hung heavily down from her head, and
\nstopped just below the shoulders. She ran her fingers through it a
\nfew times, and then grabbed a handful of strands to run under her
\nnose. The smell of freshly shampooed hair wafted through her
\nnostrils. She tossed it back behind her, and then lightly pressed
\nher palms down the back of her head and neck, to smooth it out
\nagain.<\/p>\n

Cassandra had
\nalways had a preference for having her hair long, and an experiment
\nwith short, cropped hair lasted less than a day. She had agonised
\nover it for weeks, looking through magazines for ideas, and
\neventually plucked up the courage to book a morning appointment at
\na nearby salon. She arrived back home in the afternoon, and had an
\nexcruciatingly long wait for her husband, Dave, to come home from
\nwork.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
