My grandmother\u2019s letters on the Grand Tour were the first, if not the only, part of her archive that my mother, Rosalind, genuinely wanted to share with her public. I would like to take this opportunity of thanking my mother for the dedication, loyalty and intelligence that she always practised where her mother\u2019s work was concerned. A big part of Agatha Christie\u2019s success and longevity over the years is due to my mother\u2019s insistence on quality.<\/p>\n

For this volume, I would have been lost without the professionalism of David Brawn and Natasha Hughes at HarperCollins, designer Rachel Smyth, and the help and encouragement of my wife Lucy.<\/p>\n

I would also like to pay tribute to the many fans and friends who have, knowingly and unknowingly, helped me to understand the importance of the legacy my grandmother has left to us all. These include Elaine Wiltshire, John Curran and Joe Keogh, and Robyn Brown and the National Trust at Greenway, but there are many others, most of whom know who they are!<\/p>\n
